SWIMMING FOR PRIMARY 4 PUPILS 2010

Just a wee reminder of a letter that was sent home to our primary 4 pupils in November 2009.  Please note the following information:-

Aberdeen City Council Swimming Programme for Primary 4 pupils will begin on Thursday 14 January and continue each Thursday until 18 March2010.

The lessons will be held at Summerhill Swimming Pool at 9.30 a.m. and 10.15 a.m. and bus transport will be provided for each class.

APPLICATION FOR NURSERY 2010/11

Parents of 3 and 4 year old children who have either 1 or 2 years before starting primary school, who wish a place at an Aberdeen City Council nursery in the school session starting August 2010, should apply for places between 18 January and 12 February 2010. 

Parents should visit the nursery school of their choice  during the period 18 January and 12 February 2010.

PRIMARY ONE ADMISSIONS 2010/11

Please note that children who reach the age of 5 years on or before 17 August 2010 should begin to attend primary school in August 2010.  Parents of children who reach the age of 5 years after 17th august 2010 but on or before 28 February 2011 should be aware that they may choose not to enrol their child/ren until August 2011.

Parents should seek advice from staff at their nursery if they are considering deferred entry.

Parents should visit the primary school of their choice during the week 11-15 Janaury 2010 to enrol their child/ren.  You should take a copy of your child’s birth certificate with you.

EARLY CLOSURE CULTER PRIMARY & NURSERY

Just a reminder that pupils at Culter Primary/Nursery will finish at 3.00p.m. on Friday 18 December 2009 for the Christmas holidays.

Pupils will return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2010 at 9.00 a.m.

ECO COUNCIL - HELP REQUIRED

The Eco Council would welcome help from any parent/guardian who may have a little spare time.  Help is required for plastic recycling and in the School Garden  - tidying etc.  Please get in touch with the school if you would like to help or pass a message on via your child.

RNIB - POSTAGE STAMP RECYCLING

At the Eco Council meeting on 27 November 2009 it was agreed to look for some help with collecting used postage stamps.  If you have any used postage stamps that you would like to pass on to the school it would be most welcome.  The stamps will be sent off by the school and exchanged for reading books for blind people.

CULTER SCHOOL CLOSURE/RE-OPENING

Culter School is closed to pupils on 1st December 2009 owing to a failure with the heating system.

The heating has been fixed and school will re-open on Wednesday 2nd December 2009.
