Just to say a big thank you to all who sent in donations for the Rag Bag collection.  We had 112 bags picked up.  A fantastic effort that is very much appreciated.

The items are to be collected on Monday 30th August, 2010.  All those who have bag/s of  items they want to donate should send them in to the school before 9.00 a.m. Monday morning.  On previous occasions the driver  arrived at  9.15 a.m.

We have adopted a Red Kite from RSPB and as the result of a school vote, have called her ‘Culter Galaxy’.

The weather is ‘hotting up’, can pupils please be provided with sun lotion/cream to apply before school lunchtimes.  This may be particularly necessary for ‘Sports Day’ tomorrow afternoon.

Classes have been busy  participating in activities to support Bio Diversity Week .  These include: planting seeds, mounting and building bird boxes in the School Garden.

The Eco-committee have been busy distributing wild flower seeds, posters, postcards and bookmarks to pupils on behalf of the Scottish Natural Heritage.

The eco-council are hoping to make bird boxes during Bio-diversity week.  We would be delighted if anyone could help with the supply of wood appropriate for use on this project.  Contact Ms Cochlan, Culter School.

On Tuesday afternoon, Ms Cochlan’s Primary 6 class, along with members of the Eco-council, will be joining the team of  ‘Culter in Bloom’ to clean up Coronation Road.  Equipped with hi-viz vests, litter pickers and gloves, they’ll be helping to keep our community free of litter. You can do the same by taking part in the ‘Big Clean’ taking place in Peterculter on Saturday 24 April.  Volunteers are being asked to meet at the Recycling Centre at 10.00 a.m.  For further details contact Carol Page on 01224/734450.

Culter School is doing their part to fight climate change by switching off our lights on Friday 26th March.  For one hour between 12.20-1.20p.m., pupils will be turning off lights all over the school to help the WWF Earth Day project.  (see main school blog for further details).

Please note that the last day for all Rag Bag donations is 9.00 a.m. Monday 18th January 2010.

The Eco Council has organised and collated bags for the collection from Monday 11th January to 9.00 a.m. Monday 18th January 2010.

The collection bags are to go home with pupils on Monday 11th January 2010.  When returning any items in the bags they can be dropped off in Room 2 on the ground floor of the school as in previous years.
